MYArt Film Festival in Italian city of in Calabria has honoured the Fujairah Social and Cultural Association, by awarding it the “Golden Shield,” in appreciation of its participation in the festival’s first edition, which was held between 8th and 11th July.
The shield was received by the Emirati poet, Khaled Al Dhanhani, President of the Fujairah Social and Cultural Association, in the presence of Mayor of the City, and several movie stars and media representatives.
The association’s participation in the festival attracted the interest of the Italian media and local cultural associations.
At the start of the festival, Al Dhanhani delivered a speech that praised the bilateral cultural ties between the UAE and Italy, and noted that the UAE is open to different cultures and is constantly seeking to promote dialogue, tolerance and peace among the people of the world, in light of the belief of its leadership that cultural diversity is the foundation of development, solidarity and collective social responsibility.
The UAE’s presence in international cultural events, such as the festival, reflects its prominent international stature he added while stressing that the country has become a cultural destination for intellectuals and writers from around the world, highlighting the success of the directives of the UAE’s wise leadership to make the country an international capital of culture and knowledge.
