The Office of Public and Cultural Diplomacy (OPCD) is a coordinating entity that supports the objectives of United Arab Emirates diplomatic missions around the world through arts and culture programming and content design. OPCD is dedicated to promoting UAE heritage, values and culture while facilitating cross-cultural dialogue.

The team at OPCD is inspired by the many multifaceted and dynamic forms of creative expression in existence in the UAE today as well as by the country’s rich heritage and traditions. Harnessing the power of these two cultural currents, OPCD aims to showcase and promote the very best of UAE arts and culture through a prism of authenticity.
Every initiative and programme produced by OPCD is unique and tailored to the specific requirements of the mission, the moment, and the context. OPCD helps to promote UAE arts and culture through services such as; curating exhibitions, creating visual content, producing research-based publications and the design and execution of cultural events and academic summits with a focus on cross-cultural exchange.

OPCD serves as the cultural arm of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC). It is primarily responsible for promoting the UAE’s arts and culture abroad through the country’s missions and embassies.
The Ministry of Culture and Youth is a government service responsible for educating the UAE’s community about the meaning of culture, supporting knowledge development, promoting youth culture and coordinating among institutions engaged in the arts and culture, primarily within the UAE.

OPCD has launched the Arts in Embassies programme, which exclusively showcases artwork made by Emirati artists in UAE embassies around the world. In addition, OPCD has created a database to facilitate an easier connection with embassies abroad. Through this portal, artwork created by Emirati artists can be shared and disseminated more effectively.
OPCD is dedicated to showcasing Emirati art through international exhibitions, collaborations with biennales, and various international arts platforms in order to facilitate increased international exposure and appreciation of art from the UAE.
