The United Arab Emirates University has announced the appointment of HE Zaki Nusseibeh, Minister of State, as the Supreme President of the United Arab Emirates University.
Dr. Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh is the Minister of State in charge of Public and Cultural Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. He obtained his primary education in Jerusalem, and his secondary and higher education in England, where Zaki Nusseibeh graduated from Cambridge University in Britain. From her, he obtained a master’s degree in economics and politics.
The Minister of State, Dr. Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, held many positions, including the position of Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Cultural Counselor at the Ministry of Presidential Affairs and he is considered one of the pioneering figures who accompanied the beginnings of the modern UAE renaissance, as he accompanied the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God be pleased with him. Then, since the sixties of the last century, he graduated among many media and research positions, before becoming the director of the media office in the office of His Highness the President of the State.
On the academic level, Dr. Zaki Nusseibeh was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, a member of the Board of Trustees of Abu Dhabi University, and served as Chairman of the Board of Advisors at the Middle East Institute of the London University of Economics, and he is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Abu Dhabi University, the Arab Institute in Paris and Museum Aga Khan of Islamic Arts in Toronto, Canada, was also a member of the Board of Directors of the International French Cultural Association based in Paris.
Nusseibeh has won many prestigious decorations, including the Abu Dhabi Medal for the year 2007, the Medal of Tolerance between Religions in 2012, the European-Arab Culture Medal in 2013, the French Academic Palm Frond Medal and the Order of Fine Arts and Arts with the rank of Commando, two of the most ancient French cultural decorations, and in the year 2012 the Arab Culture Award The European Association for Culture and the International Prize for Tolerance and Dialogue of Civilizations from the International Academy of Sciences and Arts, based in Salzburg, Austria.
In addition to Arabic, Nusseibeh is fluent in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish languages, and he has a familiarity with Russian, and in addition to his rich media career, Nusseibeh’s cultural account includes many translations, articles and research published in local, Arab and international newspapers, magazines and periodicals.
