The Department of Tourism and Antiquities in Umm Al Quwain recently issued its tourist guide “Discover Umm Al Quwain”, which explains the most important tourist attractions in the emirate and the cultural and entertainment areas designated for its visitors.
The presentation of the archaeological sites in the emirate provided an overview of the most important characteristics of each site. Meera Al Mehrezi, Director of the Tourism Department at the Department of Tourism and Antiquities in Umm Al Quwain, said that the department’s launch of the “Discover Umm Al Quwain” guide comes as a complement and support for the government’s efforts to encourage the tourism sector in the emirate, in line with the UAE Vision 2021 to establish the UAE’s position as a leading destination for tourism in The world, and in support of Umm Al Quwain 2021 vision of developing the tourism sector in the emirate Being an important sector in supporting the wheel of Umm Al Quwain’s economy.
Al-Mahrezi added that the Department of Tourism and Antiquities has developed a promotional plan to market the guide using all social media channels and the department’s official website, while the department intends to promote the guide in the Arab Travel Market, which is the most prominent event in the tourism sector in the Middle East and the Arab world. Where it attracts large numbers of major local and international companies working in the field of tourism, to be a good opportunity to distribute the guide on a large scale locally and internationally.
Among the most important sites presented by the Department’s tourist guide within the classification of archaeological sites is the Al-Dur site, which is located on the southeast coast of the Arabian Gulf near the road linking the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah on the one hand, and the Emirates of Sharjah and Dubai on the other hand, and its area exceeds four kilometers.
